The Junior School and Early Learning Centre (ELC) follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme which caters for students from 3 to 12 years old. Through inquiry based learning children explore concepts and create new knowledge together. Emerging literacy and numeracy is fostered and development is carefully guided, along with each child’s curiosity and interests.

The ELC fosters strong links with the parent community and opportunities are provided for parent involvement in the learning process. Influenced by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia, students in the Early Learning Centre are immersed in a play-based curriculum which nurtures a love of learning and positive self-esteem.

There is a natural progression from the ELC experience as boys and girls move to our Junior Primary Years, where there is a commitment and focus given to establishment and mastery of the foundation skills in literacy and numeracy and to an expansion of the offerings in specialist classes and co-curricular opportunities.

From Year 3, girls learn in an environment that specialises in the education of girls, where risk taking is supported and there is opportunity to excel.  It is in the primary years that the students begin to  see that strong positive role models are apparent, where higher order thinking skills are taught and where leadership is encouraged and readily available.
